Tom - Camera Operator

Tom has worked in the television and broadcast industry for over 15 years, having started his career as a camera trainee at a west London facilities house, looking after a myriad of cameras and equipment.

His experience has taken him all over the world, training as a camera assistant and progressing to an established operator, from live events, to documentary and from comedy drama to sport.

Some of his highlights include Top Gear, The Grand Tour, both the Summer and Winter Olympics, The World Cup, Brit Awards and The Kings Coronation.

Tom has also learnt hotheads, including the exciting spidercam which you will see flying all over stadiums worldwide and is lucky enough to film Sky’s “A League of Their Own, which means he’s filmed in a number of interesting places, including in the pool at the top of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands!

When Tom’s not travelling the world, he enjoys walks with his wife and can normally be found in a coffee shop!

Tom Says…

“It is fairly rare in this industry to work across such a broad array of genres so I feel very fortunate to have done so many different things. Last years highlights included operating spidercam at the FA Cup and of course, the Kings Coronation, a real moment in history. I was also lucky enough to film the winning moment of the Ryder Cup in Rome, something I will never forget. This job brings so much variety and I never know where I’ll end up next which keeps it exciting. I feel that through my experiences I have managed to hone my skills to know what is needed and to allow me to find the most beautiful shots possible. It really is a labour of love!”
